What it is, and what it is not
A commemorative certificate is a decorative keepsake for an anniversary. It is not a certified copy of the marriage entry, so it cannot be used as legal proof of a marriage. If you need the certificate for official purposes, order a marriage certificate instead.
In England and Wales it is issued for four anniversaries: silver (25 years), ruby (40), golden (50) and diamond (60). In Northern Ireland it can mark any wedding anniversary.

- The full names of both spouses, including the maiden name where relevant.
- The date and place of the marriage.
- For England and Wales, the names of the parents of both spouses.
- The anniversary date the certificate is for.

Order in good time. For marriages in England and Wales, the General Register Office asks for applications to be placed at least 10 working days before the date the certificate is needed. If your anniversary is closer than that, contact us before ordering.

£90 all-in. That’s the official government fee for a commemorative certificate (passed on to you at cost, no markup) plus our service fee for checking, preparing, submitting and following up your application. Postage is included in the official fee.
